Local Attractions
Northampton is a modern vibrant place with all the amenities one would usually associate with a university town. With its royal connections at Althorpe, great estates, country parks, inland waterways, museums and historic villages there is something for everyone to see, do and enjoy.
For those wanting to get close to nature, Stanwick Lakes in the east of the county has a nature conservation project which is a wildlife haven. Salcey Forest’s tree top walk allows visitors to walk amongst the trees 16 meters up and the trail is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs.
Pitsford Reservoir and Brixworth Country Park are only ten minutes drive away for guests wanting a stroll in the open air. Pitsford also has a cycle hire option which is popular with many of our groups.
Groups who use King’s Park often go on day trips organised by group leaders in order to explore cities such as Oxford, Cambridge, Coventry and London whilst others choose attractions like Warwick Castle and Woburn Safari Park.
Whatever the size of your group, and whatever your interests are, there is definitely something for everyone close to King’s Park. For further information on Northampton’s local attractions please go to www.explorenorthamptonshire.co.uk
